Our subsurface simulator is in production
Our goal was a coupled subsurface simulator that is fast enough for design studies and accurate enough to support engineering decisions. It now runs in production as TerraNavitas Subsurface.
Three design choices shaped it. The core physics is tested against analytic solutions before new features are added. The solver checks each case before running it, states which physics it will solve, and rejects combinations it does not yet support. Every run stores its inputs, solver version and log so that it can be reproduced.
Next, we are working on surrogate models that are used only within the range where they have been verified against the full physics, and on uncertainty quantification at field scale.
Methods and verification results are described on the research page. Physics-grounded simulation →
